Ak Su KMG LLP hosts another training workshop with a representative of Astana Department of the Anti-Corruption Service

To improve the anti-corruption culture among the employees of Ak Su KMG LLP, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption,” a training workshop was held on February 27, 2024 on the following topic:

“Anti-corruption policy of Kazakhstan: legislative innovations”

A representative of the Prevention Office of the Astana Department of the Anti-Corruption Service (ACS), senior officer G. Sagandykova, was specially invited to this training workshop.

G.Sagandykova spoke about the main innovations of the anti-corruption legislation on the whole, the ongoing reforms and the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Policy Concept.

She also explained that the fight against corruption today is a serious problem, it is possible to deal with this phenomenon only by combining all the efforts of the society and using all means, and drew attention to the fact that the legislation currently does not only regulate the measures to punish corruption crimes, but aims to take proactive measures to prevent them too. Corruption can cause serious social, moral, economic and political problems, and negatively affect the company’s activities. The report provided examples of the implementation of anti-corruption measures in foreign countries, as well as new institutions for anti-corruption measures such as volunteering.

In general, the ACS is implementing measures to increase self-awareness among the population by conducting training, providing methodological support to compliance services, and generally increasing the literacy of the country’s citizens.

In addition, for the purpose of preventive effect, the meeting participants were shown a video prepared by the ACS volunteers.

Based on the results, it was determined that measures aimed at preventing corruption offenses in the company will be continued on an ongoing basis.
