In the period from 26 to 29 January 2025 in the walls of the new multifunctional sports complex ‘Zhaiyq Arena’ in Uralsk held the first competition — the open championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on judo among young men.
The facility was built in December 2024 at the expense of KazMunayGas Company within the framework of fulfilment of its social obligations in the regions of its presence. Ak SU KMG LLP provided project management, fulfilling the functions of the customer.
A total of 871 athletes from 17 regions and 3 cities of the country took part in the championship.
As it was informed earlier, the mentioned object was built on behalf of the Head of the State, has an area of more than 20 thousand square metres and allows to accommodate 283 athletes per shift (more than 1500 thousand per day) with stands of the main arena for 1200 visitors.
In addition to the central arena, the complex has a 25-metre swimming pool for 6 lanes, halls for boxing, wrestling, table tennis, archery, fitness, mini football, volleyball, basketball and other disciplines. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from recognised global manufacturers.
