Pursuant to paragraph 67 of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the Address of the Head of State to the People of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2021 «Unity of the people and systemic reforms — a solid foundation for the prosperity of the country» and in accordance with Article 96 of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, public hearings on the working project «Construction» were held on April 10, 2024 in the village of Kuryk in the Karakiyan district of the Mangystau region desalination plant of sea water» by location: Mangystau region, in Tokymak, recreation area «Kenderli», with a capacity of 50,000 m3/day.

Representatives of the akimat and residents of the village of Kuryk of the Karakiyan district of the Mangystau region, a representative of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Mangystau region, the management of Ak Su KMG LLP, representatives of Caspian Hes Consulting LLP took part in the public hearings and expressed their opinions.

At the public hearings, O.Ayapov, Deputy General Director for Production of Ak Su KMG LLP, noted the importance of implementing a project aimed at solving the problem of drinking water shortage in the city of Zhanaozen and adjacent settlements.

Representatives of the akimat of the village of Kuryk in the Karakiyan district and the local population who took part in the public hearings expressed their trust and unanimously supported the implementation of the project.
